Digitization forges the future of intelligent manufacturing

On December 20, 2024, Nar shares had the honor of inviting Professor Li Jie, former chief executive officer of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Advanced Industrial Technology Research Institute, and Professor Shi Zhanzhong, doctoral supervisor of Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, to give lectures and provide guidance. Chairman You Aiguo and middle and senior management cadres attended the training together. In addition, students from Antai College of Economics and Management at Shanghai Jiao Tong University who were very professional in the field of digitalization also attended the training. All participants had a lively discussion with the two professors on the issues of enterprise intelligent manufacturing and digital transformation, and they benefited a lot from the training.

Professor Li Jie's research focuses on intelligent predictive technologies, products, and services based on industrial big data analysis, with a focus on centralized innovation design. He shared with everyone how to use digital technology to make the invisible experience of enterprises explicit and transform it into enterprise knowledge, breaking the human constraints of traditional manufacturing and achieving intelligent manufacturing transformation. Professor Li Jie analyzed in depth the differences between automation, digitization, and intelligence and used concrete cases to illustrate how to clean and analyze data to help enterprises achieve worry-free manufacturing.

Professor Shi Zhanzhong has been focusing on the study of artificial intelligence empowerment and digital economy, low-carbon economy, and creative economy for many years. He has proposed a vision for transforming traditional manufacturing industries into future intelligent manufacturing models, which not only requires technological innovation, but also business model innovation, from a product-centric model to a value-centric model (service innovation) and a business model that leverages digital technology to transform product-based businesses, providing a profile of the future intelligent manufacturing.

 

 

This training program studied the industry trends and advanced manufacturing development concepts in depth, not only enabling Nar management cadres to view smart manufacturing and digital transformation driven by intelligence from a strategic positioning and global perspective, but also understanding the path of sustainable innovative development at the methodological level, which is a profound empowerment for middle and senior management cadres of Nar.

Professor Li Jie ↑                         Professor Shi Zhanzhong ↑

Li Jie, author of "Industrial Big Data," "From Big Data to Intelligent Manufacturing," "Industrial Artificial Intelligence," "CPS: Next-Generation Industrial Intelligence," and "Industrial Intelligence in the Cloud," holds the position of Distinguished University Professor at the University of Maryland, USA, and was previously the Chief Scientist at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Advanced Industrial Technology Research Institute. He is also the Vice Chairman of Foxconn Technology Group, the Founding Director of the NSF Industrial Maintenance Systems (IMS) Center for Academic-Industry Collaboration, and a Senior Advisor at McKinsey & Company.

Shi Zhanzhong is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the Antai School of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He is also a professor at the Bank of China School of Technology and Finance, an academic committee member at the School of Cultural and Creative Industries, Shanghai Jiao Tong University University University of Southern California, and the director of the Industrial Economics Research Center at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Formerly served as the Vice Dean of the Advanced Industrial Technology Research Institute at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and during this period, held a temporary position as the Assistant District Mayor of Yangpu District People's Government in Shanghai, assisting in promoting industry university research cooperation and the construction of national innovation pilot urban areas. In recent years, more than 90 papers have been published in core journals at home and abroad, and more than 20 national and provincial-level projects have been completed, including 4 key and major projects of the National Social Science Fund, more than 30 horizontal consulting projects of enterprises, and three awards for decision-making consulting achievements of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government. Currently, I am leading a major project of the National Social Science Fund titled "Research on Future Industrial Forms Driven by 'Digital+Algorithm'". In recent years, five academic works have been published, including "Enterprise Strategic Alliance," "Industrial Agglomeration and Integration in Urban Agglomeration Economic Integration," "Research on the Development Performance and Path of Strategic Emerging Industries," and "Research on China's Industrial Transformation and Upgrading under the Background of the New Industrial Revolution." Additionally, the author serves as an editorial board member for the "China Science and Technology Forum.
